BAC Strikemaster Mk 88   5.75"   5.75"

The RNZAF requipped 14 Squadron at Ohakea with 10 BAC Strikemaster aircraft in 1972 as the replacement for the De Havilland Vampires which were then withdrawn from service. A further six Strikemasters were introduced into service in 1976. The Strikemaster was used as a jet conversion training aircraft for pilots progressing through to the Skyhawks of 75 Squadron. From 1976, however, all pilots completed training on this aircraft type regardless of later employment. Strikemaster aircraft were withdrawn from service in 1992 when they were replaced by the Aermacchi MB339s. Aircraft #NZ6374 now belongs to the Air Force Museum in Christchurch, New Zealand.

SkyMax's 1:72 scale Jet Provost is constructed in diecast metal, with value pricing and just the right number of features. The canopy with cordite charge can be opened or completely removed for an unobstructed view of the cockpit interior, which features side-by-side seats complete with overhead ejection seat handles, dual control sticks and pad-printed instruments. The internal nose-mounted landing lights have transparent lenses, and the solid metal wing blends almost seamlessly with the fuselage. The wing-mounted landing gear is provided as a subassembly for quick ground configuration. The armed “Strikemaster” variant features under-wing mounted ordnance such as bombs and fuel tanks.
