Boeing 747-400, construction number 32870, was delivered to Air France in 2001 as F-GITD. It served on the carrier's long-haul network, flying high-density routes to destinations in North America, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. Like other Air France 747-400s, it featured updated avionics, winglets, and a modernized interior that distinguished the -400 series from earlier variants. F-GITD operated reliably for the airline until Air France retired its passenger 747 fleet in early 2016. After withdrawal from service, the aircraft was stored and eventually dismantled, closing the chapter on one of the most recognizable and admired widebody types in the airline's history.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2025 The Flying Mule, Inc.
