Airbus A340-541, serial number 555, entered service with Singapore Airlines as 9V-SGC. The aircraft joined the airline's ultra long haul fleet and operated nonstop routes between Singapore and destinations in the United States. The A340-500 allowed Singapore Airlines to operate some of the longest commercial flights in the world during the mid 2000s. Configured with premium seating optimized for long distance travel, the aircraft provided passengers with enhanced comfort and inflight services. Powered by Rolls Royce Trent 553 engines, 9V-SGC offered the range required for ultra long haul missions and played a key role in Singapore Airlines' long distance network.
