Boeing 747-230F, registered D-ABZF, flew for Lufthansa Cargo as part of the German carrier's early fleet of dedicated 747-200 freighters supporting international cargo operations from Frankfurt. Lufthansa Cargo built its global freight network around the 747-200F beginning in the late 1970s and through the 1980s, using the type's main-deck nose-loading door to handle oversized industrial cargo, machinery, and other outsized freight before the eventual transition to 747-400F and later 777F and 747-8F aircraft in subsequent decades.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
