McDonnell Douglas MD-11, construction number 48558, was delivered to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines as PH-KCA in 1995 and named 'Erasmus'. The aircraft served KLM's long-haul network, flying routes to North America, South America, Africa, and Asia. PH-KCA featured KLM's standard three-class cabin layout with first class, business class, and economy seating, and carried the airline's classic blue and white livery. Known for its distinctive trijet design and reliability, PH-KCA became a mainstay of KLM's long-haul operations. After nearly two decades of service, it was retired in 2014 as KLM phased out the MD-11 in favor of newer, more efficient widebody aircraft.
Designed as a wide-bodied passenger and freight transport, the MD11 was first flown on January 10th, 1990. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
