McDonnell Douglas MD-11   12"   10.25"

McDonnell Douglas MD-11, entered service with American Airlines as N1754. The aircraft joined American's long haul fleet during the early 1990s and operated intercontinental services from the United States to destinations across Europe, Asia, and South America. Configured with First Class, Business Class, and Economy seating, the MD-11 provided increased range and capacity compared with the earlier DC-10. Powered by three General Electric CF6-80C2 engines, N1754 represented American's move toward a new generation of long range widebody aircraft. American ultimately retired its relatively small MD-11 fleet in 2001 as Boeing 777s assumed its long haul missions.

McDonnell Douglas MD-11

Designed as a wide-bodied passenger and freight transport, the MD11 was first flown on January 10th, 1990.
