The German's distinctive looking, 8-ton armored 'Half-Track' truck was used primarily against enemy aircraft. Featuring the 2cm Flakvierling 38 gun, this deadly tractor vehicle was also used effectively against ground based targets and personnel.
Designed to meet a 1934 requirement for an eight ton armored half-track vehicle, The Sd.Kfz.7 first entered service in 1938. Its primary use was as a tractor for the 8.8 cm FlaK gun and 150 mm howitzer, but anti-aircraft variants were also produced. It could carry gun crews of up to 12 men and their gear, with room for ammunition storage as well. Forces of Valor's 1:32 scale Sd.Kfz.7 series includes the troop carrying artillery tractor and the self-propelled anti-aircraft variant. Artillery tractor releases feature bench seating with six highly detailed figures. The anti-aircraft releases have a 360 degree rotating anti-aircraft gun with pivoting barrels mounted to the tractor's flat bed. The models in this series are constructed in diecast metal and plastic that highlights the model's details. Each release features an extensively detailed interior, drive train and suspension, a folding windscreen and configurable simulated canvas roof, rolling rubber tracks and wheels, steerable front wheels, separately applied battlefield equipment and a variety of battlefield diorama accessories.
