Boeing 727-100, registered N1187Z, flew for Air Atlanta as part of the Georgia-based charter carrier's fleet of 727 trijets supporting domestic and regional cargo and passenger charter operations. Air Atlanta operated during the 1980s as a smaller American charter airline before its eventual closure, part of the broader wave of independent charter carriers that emerged and often struggled financially during the deregulated American airline market of that era.
Designed as a smaller, short/medium-ranged complement to the 707, the 727 was first flown on February 9th, 1963. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
