Airbus A300B4-203, operated by Pan American World Airways as N203PA. The aircraft joined Pan Am's A300 fleet during the early 1980s and was employed primarily on high-density domestic, Caribbean, and Latin American services. Pan Am selected the twin-engine A300 to provide widebody passenger and cargo capacity on routes that did not justify the much larger Boeing 747. N203PA became part of the airline's increasingly diverse fleet during a period of major restructuring following U.S. airline deregulation. Pan Am eventually disposed of its A300s as financial pressures forced continued fleet reductions, making the type a distinctive reminder of the carrier's final decade of operations.
Designed as a wide-bodied medium range transport, the A300 was first flown on July 8th, 1983. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
