Formed in the Baltic States in 2008, the Baltic Bees are a civilian aerobatic jet team flying the Czech built L-39C Albatros.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
Designed in Czechoslovakia to meet the requirements for a trainer to replace the L-29 Delfin, the L-39 Albatros was first flown on November 4, 1969. This high-performance, single-engined aircraft was the first turbofan-powered trainer and the first "second generation" jet trainer. It is versatile enough to be used for light-attack missions as well as pilot training, and is also popular among private owners, especially in the U.S., where its relatively low price-tag (between $200 and $300K) makes it available to moderately wealthy individuals. The L-39 is the world's most widely-used jet trainer and has even been used in Hollywood movies such as the James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies." © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
